“[Nancy]…kept the packed house of awards revelers completely silent and in rapt attention during her moving and emotional acceptance speech, which is no mean feat as I myself can certainly attest to.”
Editor in Chief – PRWeek
“Nancy is a dynamic presenter and was the only speaker (of eight) at our event to receive a full-house standing ovation. Nancy presented her story in a compelling and digestible way to the audience, providing both personal anecdotes and real-life facts about the impact the Ice Bucket Challenge had on the ALS community and ALS education. She truly came across as professional, passionate and highly informed.”

A former Captain of the Boston College baseball team and professional baseball player in Europe, Pete Frates was diagnosed with ALS in March of 2012, at the age of 27. Since his diagnosis, Pete has enjoyed the strength and support of his family and new bride, Julie. Pete and Julie were married in June of 2013, and together they, as well as his whole family, have taken an active role in raising awareness and funds for ALS research. Julie and Pete now have a beautiful daughter (Lucy) that lifts his spirits daily.
Through different annual fundraising events, like the “Plunge 4 Pete” and “Pints 4 Pete,” friends and members of “Team Frate Train” continue to raise ALS awareness and funds that will leave to a cure someday and end this terrible disease.
